Kitarians are known for their abilities in hunting. They place great value in honor and freedom and are loyal to family above all else. The Kitarian that leaves his family to adventure is very rare. Often, they only do so in times of great need or for a special reason or quest.

Personality:
Kitarians often appear aloof around outsiders. This appearance hides a very curious, serious side. Although very serious about hunting, they often appear cruel to those of other races because they have a tendency to toy with their prey.
Kitarians love the outdoors and prefer living on the edge of civilization or roaming in areas that many would consider uncivilized. They tend to live in or near family clans and have a very developed since of personal honor. They do not mind looking foolish on their own, but to make one look foolish is to invite violent retribution.
Lyons tend to be the most social of the race.

Physical Description:
Though there are three major types of Kitarians, they all have certain similar features. They are generally taller then humans and a bit stockier. They have an obvious feline appearance. Their pointed ears are located on the tops of their heads; they have a pronounced snout, flat, catlike nose, sharp teeth and claws on their hands and feet. They have thick hair on their entire bodies; narrow pupils and males of the race have a thick mane about their heads and necks.
Lyons tend to have tan to brown fur and the males have thick manes.
Tigra tend to have orange fur with black stripes. Although rare, Tigra with white fur and black stripes do exist. They are often much revered by their people.
Pantos have fur running from deep dark blue to black.
They mature much faster then humans but have a similar lifespan.

Relations:
Kitarians prefer nature-loving races such as elves, but find humans very fascinating. Rodent races also fascinate them, but more from a predatory standpoint. When groups of the sub-races are together, they Tigras and Pantos always defer to the Lyons.

Alignment:
Due to their clan upbringing, most Kitarians tend to be chaotic. Clans are ruled by Strength and respect, not law. Kitarians dont generally understand any other type of rule.

Kitarian Lands:
Kitarians are nomadic and very territorial. They generally build movable or easily disassembled structures, as they are constantly patrolling and caring for their territories. They do come together to trade at specific times of the year and some settle down in these spots, thus they do have towns, but normally most of the town is still movable. Although they are very family oriented, it isnt uncommon for small kits to be traded and exchanged at these gatherings.
Lyons tend to settle on open plains areas.
Tigra tend to prefer forest areas.
Pantos prefer tropical climates such as lush jungles.

Religion:
Kitarians are very exclusive in their worship. They worship the Kitarian god, and or the god/goddess of nature. The few Kitarians that worship other deities do so in secret.

Languages:
Most Kitarians know how to speak common. Their own languages is about 20% spoken, 70% facial expressions, and 10% posture. As a result, it is almost impossible for non-Kitarians to grasp or use it. Kitarians start out illiterate unless they spend skills to learn languages as their own language has no written form.

Names:
All Kitarians have two names. Their true, Kitarian names are generally unpronounceable in other languages, so they develop a second name they use when not around their own people. This public name varies from clan to clan and depends greatly on the race the family clan has the most dealings with.

Adventurers:
Kitarians outside of their family clans are usually hunters, bounty hunters, or mercenaries. They prefer professions that keep them outside where their innate outdoor skills flourish. Most Kitarians who adventure are males who have been forced out of their clans by the dominant male who saw them as some kind of threat, or the family territory wouldnt support another Kit. Most are looking for a spot they can settle down and start a clan of their own. Even when driven out, they remain loyal to their family clans and have been known to send home money and other items to help the family, if they return, they are welcomed, as long as they dont intend to stay very long.
